Where are we?

We are located just a bit South of the geographical centre of France, in the Allier department, within the Auvergne region. There are approximately 7 km between the village of Bellenaves (where two of the houses are located) and Chantelle. These 2 villages in turn are approx. 35 km from Vichy and 60 km from Clermont-Ferrand.

How do you get here?

Our home in Chantelle, Manoir St Nicolas, is where you will need to go in order for us to take you to your French holiday home. Please call us when you are within 2 hours of arriving, so we can make sure we are there to welcome you.

If you are traveling by plane:

The nearest airport is in Clermont-Ferrand, where you can rent a car at the airport (see driving directions below)
Alternatively, you can fly to Paris, Geneva or Lyon:

• Paris: either rent a car at the airport (approx. 3 hours driving), or take a train from Paris (Station: Gare de Lyon) to Vichy (3 hours direct), where you can rent a car at the station (Avis and Hertz)
• Geneva: either rent a car at the airport (approx. 4 hours driving) or take a train to Vichy, via Lyon (4 hours in total) and rent a car at the station (Avis and Hertz)
• Lyon: either rent a car at the airport, or take a train to Vichy (2 hours direct) and rent a car at the station (Avis and Hertz)

If you are traveling by car:

Apart from ordinary (and recent!) maps, the best way to find your way around is to use www.viamichelin.com (available in English), before your departure.

Arriving via Luxembourg:

Drive through Metz, then Dijon, then leave the motorway at Chalon sur Saone using exit 26 in the direction of Monceaux les Mines, Le Creusot, by N 70/E607 via Paray le Monial, Digoin, Moulin, St Pourcain and then Chantelle via D 987.

Arriving in Chantelle, go straight ahead until you see a petrol station/Renault garage. The road turns left and after 100m you will see the church and church square (Place St. Nicholas) on the left, where you will find our house on the right hand side (see picture above). Go slowly as it is a dangerous intersection.

Arriving via Germany and Mulhouse:

You leave the motorway in Chalon sur Saone using exit 26 taking direction Monceaux les Mines and then the rest is like above.

Arriving from Calais:

Drive towards Paris, circumventing it by the East, then towards Bordeaux on A10 until you reach A71 towards Orleans / Bourges. Follow A71 until you reach Exit 12 (see below for further directions)

Arriving via Lyon:

From Lyon, drive via St Etienne and towards Clermont Ferrand, reaching A71 and heading towards Paris. Follow A71 until you reach Exit 12 (see below for further directions)

Arriving from Clermont-Ferrand airport:

Take A71 towards Paris, until you reach Exit 12 (see below for further directio

At Exit 12 on A71:

Take Exit 12 towards Vichy / Ebreuil / Gannat. After paying the toll, take A719 towards Gannat. After 6 kms, take Exit 14 towards Gannat / Moulins / St. Pourcain. Join N9 towards Moulins / Paris. After 3 km on N9, go left on D42 towards Charroux and Chantelle. Arriving in Chantelle, go straight through town including the semi-pedestrian street. At the end of that street, go right towards the church on Place St Nicolas, where our house is located on the right hand side (see picture above)
